Accessibility Statement for Freedom Keys

What Are We Doing?
To help us make the Freedom Keys website a positive place for everyone, we have been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility: A, AA, and AAA. We have chosen Level AA as the target for the Freedom Keys website. Achieving Level AA ensures that our website is accessible to a broader audience by addressing the most common barriers to accessibility.
How Are We Doing?
We are working hard to achieve our goal of Level AA accessibility. While we have made significant progress, we acknowledge that there are still some areas that need improvement. The following information explains what we are doing to address these areas and enhance accessibility.
Success Criteria 1.2.2:
Although we have published transcriptions for our Learn on the Go podcasts, transcriptions are not yet available for all of our videos and webinars. We have initiated a comprehensive transcription program and are committed to completing it shortly. This will ensure that all multimedia content is accessible to everyone.
Success Criteria 1.4.1:
A small number of articles use highlighting to convey emphasis, which is not communicated in any other way. We are actively identifying and updating this content to ensure that emphasis is conveyed through accessible means such as text formatting or additional descriptions.
Success Criteria 2.4.2:
Some older content on our website does not meet this criterion, which involves providing multiple ways to locate a web page within a set of web pages. We are gradually updating this content to ensure it aligns with the latest accessibility standards, providing better navigation options for all users.
Success Criteria 3.1.2:
There are very few instances of non-English languages included on the site without appropriate language attributes. We are in the process of identifying these instances and amending them to include proper language tags, ensuring clarity and understanding for all users.
Success Criteria 3.2.3:
We have found some inconsistencies in navigation across different pages. We are actively working to correct these inconsistencies to provide a more cohesive and predictable browsing experience for all users.
Browsealoud
Freedom Keys also utilizes Browsealoud, a tool designed to enhance accessibility through various features, including:
- Text-to-speech functionality: Users can have any text on the page read out loud.
- Translation service: Any page can be read in one of 99 languages.
- Picture dictionary: Illustrates the meaning of any word clicked on.
- MP3 download: Users can download selected text as an MP3 audio file.
- Screen mask: Allows users to focus on one part of the page at a time.
- Text magnifier: Enlarges text for better readability.
- Simplified page version: Creates a simpler version of any page for easier navigation.
To activate Browsealoud, simply click on the orange speak button on any page, which will generate a toolbar providing all these functionalities.

No warranty is given regarding the accuracy of translations. If any questions arise concerning the accuracy of the information presented by the translated version of the website, the original version takes precedence.
